The Union County Performing Arts Center is a multi-purpose facility with two theaters, a concert hall, and a multi-media center. It features a performing arts program, an extensive performing arts collection, classes in ballet, theater, and other dance, and a library, and is located in the heart of the greater Pittsburgh area.
A lot of people in the media world complain that the music scene in Pittsburgh doesn’t have as big a presence as it does in other parts of the country. That’s simply not true. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, one of the four big symphony orchestras in the country, has had a program going for ten years. This week they presented an “Early Music” concert.
This was the first symphony concert of the season. The orchestra’s music director, Daniel Zingg, called this one a “wonderful experience.” The orchestra was full of familiar faces, and there was a lot of applause and cheering. This was the first time any of the kids in the audience had a chance to see the orchestra live. The orchestra is very well known for its music, and the live performance was very good.
I haven’t been able to find it yet, but all of the kids in the audience were dressed in costumes. It would have been a great show, if there was a dress code. My sister said she would have loved to have seen it.
The performance was pretty good, and I’m really glad to see it done live. I hope that the orchestra continues to perform in the future, and I hope they find their way into the high school musical.

In fact, my sister told me that she has had more than one frustrating experience at a live performance, where you can’t tell if it’s live or a recording. The orchestra was good, but it could have been better.

It is important to note that the orchestra was performing in a performing arts center in a suburb of a major metropolitan area. The orchestra may not have been as great as I thought it would have been.
