I’m a huge believer in this philosophy and I’ve personally made multiple business transitions. My first job was a very big corporation that was a huge influence on me and my career. The reason I started working in the corporate world was because the company was growing and needed to be able to do things like hire more people. The next step was to make the company’s employees feel welcome.
This is a great concept. It doesnt have to be a huge company, but just a company that needs to grow. Ive seen a lot of people go from corporate life and move into a lot of different places, and one of the things that they all seem to forget is that when they move to a different city, they take out a lot of people that they worked with in the past.

I’ve seen change agents that did well in their new job while also making a very poor transition to the company they are supposed to work for.
But just because a company doesnt want to hire someone that is unfamiliar with its company doesnt mean that they shouldnt hire someone who is. The people that are hired to work as a change agent are put in a position of great responsibility. In my case I was the director of the marketing team for a company that was in the midst of a transition.
You know that feeling you get when you work for someone for a very long time and things just seem to be going nowhere? Well that is exactly what was happening to my company. The marketing team had a great idea, but the owners of the company didnt seem to want to adopt it. They werent interested in the idea, so the company went into a period of stagnation. But if you look at all the companies that were in the same position, they all had great ideas at some point.
