The one thing that I always get asked about is the crafts we make. While there is a certain amount of fun to be had with the crafts, the best ones are those made by kids. Sometimes I feel as if I’ve been asking the same question for a while, but never received a satisfactory answer. So I thought I’d share my favorite crafts with you, not just for kids, but for anyone who loves making things.
My favorite craft is making paper airplanes, and that is because I make them every single day for my kids. I’ve been making them for a couple of years now and the quality of my paper planes is simply amazing. The best part of all, they’re also completely free to make.
While you’re at it, you may like these five other great crafts for kids.
One of my favorite things to do is to make paper airplanes for my kids. My oldest is 7 and my youngest is 4. They really love to play with them even when theys youngest is asleep. They just sit on the kitchen table and pretend that they are an airplane. Ive always been more of a maker than a builder, so I love this hobby.
My kids have never made a model airplane or a puzzle before, so I dont know if they are going to be good at it. However, they have been so excited by the fact that they can make paper planes that they made me an awesome homemade model for them today. I made a small plane that has a small wing on it and some propellers that rotate, and there is a tail on it. But the best part of all is it is free.
The plane is made by putting a piece of cardboard on top of the paper, cutting out the model, and then gluing it down. It’s a great lesson in how to model and learn how to glue. The plane is not super intricate, but it is still very doable.
The planes are so easy to make, that you almost need a pair of scissors. I mean, I guess you could use a glue gun or a glue stick, but that would require some time. What I would do is cut out a piece of cardboard and then glue it to the model with a small amount of glue. You can then glue down the wings or the propellers or whatever. The wings are what really make it look like a plane. The propellers are really just decorative.
The problem with plane-making is that it requires a lot of glue. I mean, it’s a really nice craft, but it’s probably not as easy as it looks. However, if you’re really in a hurry, you can use a small amount of hot glue and then put a piece of cardboard on top of that. Cut a hole in the top of the cardboard, and then glue the glue down the hole. The trick is to not overdo it.
