I love the idea of a small business, but as a consultant, I don’t have that luxury. I need to have a place to call home to focus on my clients and their needs. The ideal place to do this is a small office. With an office, you can set up your own workspace, have a homebase office, and set up meetings and conferences. You can even bring your laptop and work from wherever you want.
For me, the ideal office setting for my consulting work is a small, windowless cubicle. If I want to sit down and work, I can work from my desk or the break room. The cubicle can also be an office if it’s for clients who will want a quiet space to work.

The only time I’m stuck here is when I’m working on a project. If you need something more, your workspace is a better place to work. If you want to do something, your workspace is a better place for you.
