trump tried arts funding. instead it went too far. if trump was really serious about the arts, he would have been much more aggressive in funding his arts organizations. Instead, trump gave away a ton of money, and his art programs were often the recipients.
That money ended up being used for his campaign, which was a disaster. He started a campaign with the hope that he would be able to hire some of the best young artists in the country, and instead got screwed over by the art community. It’s no secret that he was a terrible fundraiser, and even a few articles written by the press are revealing.
There is a reason why so many art museums, galleries, and other art and cultural organizations have been so supportive of trump. His plan to expand arts funding is not only a good plan, it is the exact opposite of what was intended to happen.
With arts funding being so important to the quality of art around the world, it’s not surprising that this particular plan has been so poorly executed. With so many galleries and museums in the country, they would have needed to be spread out geographically. Instead, they all exist in the same city, and the best galleries are in the same part of town. Also, the arts community is not a monolithic entity, and there’s a ton of variation across the country.
For example, the New York-based Whitney Museum of Art does not have its own individual building. Its home is in the Museum of Modern Art, which is in lower Manhattan. The Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh are separate institutions. The New York Public Library is a separate entity. I’d like to give you a specific example from the arts community here in San Francisco.
The Art Institute of San Francisco, or the I.A.F. as it’s known locally, is a private, non-profit foundation that focuses on education and creativity, but it’s also a highly successful business. One of the most famous, and most active, members of the I.A.F. is the Art Fund, the organization that oversees the foundation.
It’s now in the last stages of its fundraising, but I’ll put up a quick video of a few of the highlights of last year’s I.A.F. Art Fund Gala, where Art Fund CEO, Susan Stem, announced that she’s raised over $3 million for the foundation. As you can see in the video, Susan’s also presented an award to the first female president of the I.A.F., who will be taking over in January 2018.
As you can see in the video, Susan Stem has not only raised over 3 million dollars for the I.A.F. but also has a lot of other major accomplishments in her resume. She is a two-time graduate of the I.A.F. and a highly sought after speaker with an impressive list of accomplishments.
The I.A.F. has been around for over a decade, and Susan Stem is only the fifth person to have ever been elected as a president of this organization. She is also a two-time graduate of the I.A.F. and a highly sought after speaker with an impressive list of accomplishments.
It turns out that Susan Stem, the I.A.F. president, is also a millionaire. She’s worth another 3 million dollars. The I.A.F. is a philanthropic foundation that raises money for arts and cultural nonprofits all over the world. It’s also worth noting that the I.A.F. also supports many of the arts organizations that do not receive direct funding from the federal government, and that the I.A.F.
