What is the Pittsburgh Arts Festival? It’s a series of events that take place over three days in Central PA at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. The event features over 200 artists, musicians, and performers.
There’s a variety of styles of music being performed throughout the festival, but the musical events are the primary focus. I love the way the festival is structured. You meet the artists before the event and you can get up and go right into the festival. The artists come to you, and they take the stage, and you sit back in your seat and watch them perform. It’s such a “me” experience.
The art festival has always existed, but this year it has truly increased its focus. The organizers are doing exactly what they always intended to do: They are trying to create a new, bigger, more interactive art festival that is all about the artists themselves. This event is a great example of how we can combine art with the art festival. This event is a great example of how to keep it focused, relevant, and fun.
I’ve been lucky enough to attend this event and while I enjoyed it more than I expected, I’ve found it to be far more than just an art festival. This year it really stepped up the art festival into an art festival about the artists. It’s a new festival, it’s a bigger and better festival, and it’s a festival with a new focus on the artists themselves.
