As a matter of fact, the list of arts colleges in Chicago is pretty extensive. But if you’re looking for a school that is truly dedicated to its mission of educating artists, they are definitely the place to go.
At art schools, the core of what you learn is more art, visual art, rather than the content associated with your program. A lot of the programs at arts schools are highly interactive, so they allow you to work with your instructors as a team (or a team of fours). When youve got a good instructor that you have a lot of fun with, it can be a lot of fun as well.
Some of the schools Ive been to also have a great variety of different art courses. It’s just fun to go to these different schools. Thats why I dont always go to art schools that I dont enjoy going to. There are so many schools to choose from, I just can never decide on what type of art program is right for me.
I would like to think that the art programs in college are as diverse as the arts programs in the entertainment and music industries. But I think they are still a little too limited when it comes to allowing students to choose among different schools. For example, if you want to study music at an art school then you need to be able to play instruments and do a lot of playing.
But if you don’t have a guitar, then you can’t study music. If you don’t have an instrument in your room, then you can’t study music. You can only choose from one art school. If you want to study art, then you need to be a student of both art classes.
I don’t think that the schools should be forced to offer a bunch of separate majors like engineering, music, dance, etc. But this is an issue for a lot of schools, not just for us because it would make the whole system even more complicated. I think it would make more sense for schools to provide a variety of majors within the same category. If a student is interested in a particular area of study (like music) then he or she could take either music or art classes.
The reason is that different majors are often taught as ways of furthering a career in a specific field. Having a generalist program that takes a variety of majors is also less likely to require students to learn a new subject and also less likely to take up any of the time that it takes to do so.
The reason that music classes were less common in the arts was that most people didn’t have computers to use to learn music. But now computers have become the norm and a lot of music schools have started to offer computer-based music classes. This is good because a lot of students are now learning to play the drums and guitar. It all makes sense and is really encouraging.
I see this as a good sign that the arts are doing better than ever. It seems like a lot of music programs now are computer-based, so there’s a chance for these students to gain some of that online learning advantage.
