We train our bodies to fight, and we’ve been doing that for years.
The point is that it is not just in the ring, but also in our everyday lives. We do not have to do anything to be in the best shape of our lives. But it won’t be long before the majority of the population is just looking to gain the fastest possible athletic and martial arts training to be better fighters. It’s no surprise then that you might get some kind of a “dumb” training training dummy in your gym.
I am not saying you should go down the path of a dumb training dummy, but it is the case that the majority of people who are training for the martial arts will end up with a dumb training training dummy. They will have no idea what they are doing and will probably end up in a situation where they are not fighting for real but will be punching and kicking around in a dummy.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. It’s better to train with someone that knows what they’re doing than someone who doesn’t. It’s like a boxer: you cannot train with someone who doesn’t know how to box. And you definitely should never train with a dummy.
As you can see in the above video, the dummy is not very intelligent. It has no idea that it’s supposed to be training, and its not even very good at boxing. It’s also not too much fun to train with, and it does not have the skills to actually use. The dummy’s only purpose is to be a training dummy.
I am not suggesting that you train with a dummy. I am suggesting that you train with someone who knows what theyre doing than a dummy that you dont even know what its doing.
When I was in training, I used to see a lot of dummies. But as a former martial artist, I now know that they are not very useful. When you are in a fight, you need to know how to use every part of your body.
I think the real reason to use a dummy as a training dummy is for its very physicality. You get a chance to feel every bit of your opponent in the most realistic way possible. Its a great way to learn some proper striking techniques. And since your dummy is pretty much the most realistic thing you have in a fight, it will also teach you what it feels like to use every part of your body on the spot.
As for the video, I was surprised at how well the dummy worked as a martial arts dummy. It really gave the impression of being able to use every part of your body on the spot.
