You also have the option of just renting the whole gallery for an hour, three hours, or a day. We’ll see.
I can’t help but feel that we’re talking about a space that is both so hip and so contemporary that it could just be another cool thing to do, and yet it’s also so institutional that it can’t exactly be a space for all day art. I’m not sure that it’s worth the time to do that though.
I think it probably could be a cool place to do art, but I also think that it would be a bad investment for the gallery to rent out all day. If anything, I would probably suggest that people rent out an hour and see if it helps them decide what to do for the rest of the day.
I think we can safely say that katzen arts center is a cool space, but not just because of its hip and non-institutional feel. It’s also because they have been renting out spaces since 2003. I think that is a great indicator of how successful they have been, and what kinds of spaces are successful over time.
I have seen very few spaces that have stayed the same since they opened in 2003. They are a pretty big space that can be used by a wide variety of people. They have large open space-like areas, but they also have a ton of open tables and chairs. They have a large, round table that is used daily, as well as the smaller one that is used for events. Also, they have a big, open kitchen that features a long picnic table.
