As you are probably aware, I’m a huge fan of the dover business college. This is a brand new program that I have been a part of for about two years now and I absolutely love it. It is a very unique program that allows the students to go to the University of Vermont, the only business school in the state of Vermont, to complete an intensive eight-week program.
The program takes place in the summer months and requires students to work on real-life businesses during their time off. During the course of this eight week program students receive a business plan from a business manager and put together a business they feel confident will be successful when they return to campus.
This program is a really unique experience. I think it might be one of the only times you get to work with real businesses during your stay. My only criticism is that it is a bit too intense for a student to be taking on their first real business. If I was on a normal school, I’d say no way. But, when you’re a student there, you’re not taking courses that you can take at a normal school and then go back to study.

Dover school is a two-year program, which means that students will spend four years in school (two semesters for each year) taking classes that are essentially designed to prepare them for a job as a business owner. They attend classes for each of their two semesters and then they can either go back and take classes to graduate or they could, if they want to, work at a real business in a real job while they study.
It’s an interesting concept.
I was never really a huge fan of the idea of a business college, mostly because I felt that the college program itself was a little too much like a business school. I think that the people who go to business schools are usually the people who don’t really like what they do. And you know what? I’m not even that great at what I do either.
The truth is that I have no idea what I want to be. I’m not even sure I want to be a programmer. Or an accountant or an architect or a doctor or an accountant or a lawyer or a banker. I know I only have a vague idea of what those things are. I’ve never even been to a business school. I’m so far into my life that I have no idea what I want to do.
I think they are looking at the whole point of life. If you look at the first 20 years of my life, I mean, if you were to make one of the three hundred different plans that I plan for you to do, would you ever get tired of being in a place of zero self-control? Because I have NO idea why I do this, but I certainly do have a sense of why I do what I do.
I think the idea of doing a business school is to learn about how you’d like to learn about yourself and the areas of your life where you’d like to expand your knowledge. In this case, going through an MBA would give you an opportunity to understand what makes you tick, how you respond to challenges, and the most important fact you can’t put your finger on: that you’re on your own.
