I can be a little “busy” as it were and when that happens I need a few minutes to myself. I’ve always liked to create something in a certain way and I’ve always liked the way that I feel when I create.
But crafts is an activity, a process, not an act. It’s a way of life, a way to express your individuality. It’s not like you can say, “I think I’m going to create a table” and then go on to spend an hour or two making that table. You can’t do crafts and then go on to spend an hour or two making a piece. That’s not crafts.
Crafts are an outlet where you create the tangible things that you like, things that you enjoy. These things can be beautiful, functional, or just plain fun. Thats the fun part, I think. Its like going to the mall, only your stuff is there. You can make a piece of furniture that you like, or just sit around the house for days and make a sculpture of a plant or a tree or whatever interests you. Its a real thing.
The problem is that, when you can’t make anything that you want, you have to resort to making things that don’t interest you at all. That does not make you a crafts-nerd, nor does it make you a creative person. It makes you a person with a poor grasp of the things that really matter.
The problem with that is that we all need inspiration and there is a lot of it out there. So if you’re looking for ideas on how to craft something, your best bet is probably online. I’m not really a big fan of online tutorials, but in the case of crafts, that’s not a bad thing either.
Crafts are a great way to create a functional and aesthetic product. They can be used as a tool to help create other items, but they can also be used to create your own things if you take the time to do the work and make it. Even if your creative spark is weak, you will quickly gain the tools to create great things with them.
There are a lot of crafts out there that people have posted online and asked us to help make. We’ve done a lot of our own custom-built stuff, so it’s been fun to be able to share it with you. Here’s a few that we have made and can share.

It’s easy to forget how useful the tools are, and easy to forget that you are a member of the crafter community.
