I chose to attend a communications arts high school because its the type of school that I wanted to attend. The program required an undergraduate degree in communications. And, the school offered a four-year undergraduate degree, which I didn’t have. I had to take a correspondence communication degree, which was a four-year degree that I didn’t even want to take.
And since I was also a freshman, I had to sit an interview for an internship. And when I called to ask if it was a requirement, the school’s rep said that it was not. Even though I was already in the program, I had no choice but to accept it.
I think what makes this job so frustrating is that the person I was interviewing was incredibly young, and he had only been hired because his college prof had recommended him. Now, I had no idea who he was or how long he was going to be in the job, but even though I was only an intern and a junior, I had to call the schools to find out. I was also given a lot of homework to do, and the first semester was very strenuous.
Although I didn’t realize it at the time, I had to go to every school in the district and find out what grades I had to get. I had to sit through a ton of classes, write essays, and sometimes answer questions that I had no idea what they were. I know that was not the way to make a good impression, but it was necessary for this job.
Well, I went to high school for communications arts because I was a communications major and my parents wanted me to go to a good school. I did my best to succeed in school, and I did have a decent GPA and I was good at science class. I graduated with a 3.78 GPA. I also had the opportunity to intern at Yahoo! and then at Google where I learned a ton.
