This is a great reminder to those of us that have been out of the business for a while that it’s not all business or no business. It is important to be out there to learn and grow so that we are prepared for the next great opportunity. In the words of a wise woman, “It’s all about the journey.
The best part of my career is when I have a client ask me a question, I don’t say, “Oh yeah, that’s why I’m in business.” I say, “Yep, that’s why I’m in business.” That’s not a good idea, because it will give them the wrong impression of us.
I actually think that this is one of the best quotes that I have come across in my career. I guess that when you are in business, you are in business. You don’t work for free. You work for a reason.
My point is that the best thing about being a lawyer is that when you are in a bad situation, you are not a lawyer. You are an attorney. Which means in a good situation, you can be a lawyer. But in a bad situation, you are an attorney.
There are many good questions to ask when you look at this.
Which is why I am so happy that we are returning to our great old form in our new game, Back in Business. It was great to return to the setting and gameplay we loved in the original, but now that we are finally back, we can put the game that we made back in its rightful place. For a long time we were in the business of making a game that we believed in, and we made games that we believed in.
In order to do that, we relied on old tricks. We were a studio of three, which meant that we had to make a game that we believed in. We made a game that we believed in because we trusted the people who made it. So when we put our faith in a particular studio, we were also telling them that we trusted them to make it good.
A studio can’t make a game if they don’t trust the people who made it. That’s why the best studios, studios that believe in the same thing, are the ones that make the best games. That’s also why we put our studios out of business because we had to make a game that we believed in, but we didn’t trust enough to make it good.
I wish I could say it was the best we ever made, but it certainly wasn’t, and that’s where I think the studios who made some of the best games in history are still struggling today. The same thing happened with the first Playstation. Sony’s founders originally wanted to make a game that was so good that nobody would buy them a PlayStation, but when they released a game that was as good as they could have made it, they found that their audience was already buying the Playstation.
Today, the studios who make top-notch games and who have the backing of large corporations are still struggling with the same thing. How are they going to compete with the huge publishers who have more money than they can spend on a game? Well, you need a product that is still great, so you can afford to make a game that is that great.
