Arts Electric is a local nonprofit run by artists who teach and teach for free. They have a small classroom program that goes from community to community in our town, teaching art, building and cultivating community.
The organization was started by two artists who wanted to make art accessible to the public. If you’re an artsy person (and we’re all artsy, right?), you can probably guess that there’s something you’re good at. And if you’re a good person who wants to learn about art (and that includes artists), then Arts Electric is the place for you.
Arts Electric is a wonderful organization that aims to promote community building by providing free, accessible, and affordable art workshops and classes.
Artists get access to all the workshops and classes and they do some free open studio events too. But the way it works is that they choose three works of art they want to show in a community art show. Then they go to the local community to sell the works on the opening night. Artists also get free access to art classes. Theres a lot to learn about art, and the more people who can learn, the more art there will be.
The internet is not a bad place to teach art, because there are a lot of people who might need it. A lot of the art classes are free and accessible to anyone, and that’s good for artists too. I see arts electric as a kind of a game mechanic where you can take part in different kinds of classes. You can choose to be an artist, a writer, an editor, a designer, a musician, a comedian, a dancer, a swimmer, a runner, or a painter. The class is a set of skills that you can pick up in the arts electric class. The class is part of a whole. This is really what arts electric is about.
It sounds like a good idea right? I mean all you need to do is pick up skills in something, but it sounds almost as if you could use Arts Electric to get that skill up and then you wouldn’t have to do anything in the arts electric class. It’s a kind of a game mechanic where you can get a skill up and then just keep on playing Arts Electric.
