After a couple of years in this industry, I’ve become more aware of how bad the pay compared to some other things. I’m not saying that my experience isn’t great, but it does make you wonder if you’re getting a lot for what you’re doing, or if what you’re doing is a lot better than what you can find at a different company.
A lot of what Ive done is just to do things that no other company can do to help others. My wife and I were both at the same school, so we were both working full time. At one point we were working on a project with my husband and he was working on two projects at the same time. We were both working on a project where our jobs were to build a building for the school.

This company had offered to pay me more money to work with an architect to make the building the way that we wanted, but I told the architect that I didnt really want to do that.
There was no real discussion about it, but I got to the point where the architect wanted to know if I wanted to do it or not. I told her I didn’t really want to do it, but she said that if I wouldnt mind she could do it. I said no thanks and she said that if I refused it she would have to let me go. The architect then asked me if I would rather do it myself or find someone else to do it.
Business jobs in Denver are one of those jobs that is generally a lot of work, and unless you want to work at a place like this, you’re going to probably have to be the boss. Not only that, but you have to deal with the business owners who have a lot of experience with small businesses. Also, a lot of the jobs are very seasonal. You have to be able to work the hours that the business needs you to work.
If you have the opportunity to travel to the far corners of the country and experience an economic boom in the middle of the desert, then business in the desert is certainly a great thing. But before you jump at the opportunity to work in the desert, you should check out the local economy. The local economy is the number one factor in determining whether a place is a great place to work.
