There are different ways to use digital media, but it all seems to get us in the same, repetitive cycles of “consuming” and “receiving”. We are, however, all unique. And a little about what makes us different, helps drive us to create, share, collect, and consume more.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I think the two things that drive me the most when I’m creating are my own creativity and my own consumption.
Creativity is what makes me feel alive. It goes beyond the mind’s eye and into the heart and soul. Creativity is the ability to see things in new ways and to imagine how things could be. It’s the ability to see connections, similarities, or differences that haven’t been previously thought of.
My favorite quote in relation to creativity is when I was a little kid. It is from a movie called the Matrix. It is a quote by the person who is always having a conversation with someone and suddenly his voice is just gone, and he is just standing there talking with no sound. That is creativity.
Creativity is a wonderful thing for people to have. It can help people get ahead in their careers, it can help people connect with each other, and it can help people make connections that they never would have thought of. But creativity is not something that you should be afraid of. Even just doing something new can lead to success. As a child, I was afraid of my teachers, afraid of my teachers parents, afraid of my teachers teachers, and afraid my teachers teacher.
