This is actually a very, very good point. If you are the person who owns the business unit where the project is being developed, then you are the one who will make the ultimate decision. That’s actually why I get the most questions, because I make the decision on whether I can be paid for my work.

I know I’ve been asked, “Do you guys do the whole project at the same time?” Unfortunately I think the answer is no. You don’t want to be working on what is going to be your last feature or any other major job, you want to be working on the features that are really important to the company going forward. Once you’ve decided what is essential and what is not, you can then decide how you will divide your time among the various features.
I agree with this. However, the best way to do this is to work from home. There are a lot of people who work from home who are not productive or want to work from home. I feel the same way, and a lot of us have gotten burned by working at the office.
