I am a craft lover. I find that when I have to use something that is broken, I will always find a way to create something with it. So while I have a collection of glass art on my walls, I have also created several pieces of glass art that I have framed in my home. One of the best things about creating glass art, is that you can actually use the glass without it being a distraction from your main design. For example, the glass above the picture of my kitchen is so perfect that it is almost a distraction from the main shape of my kitchen. I love the way the piece looks, but it is almost like it’s a separate piece of art and I am putting everything else into the background.
The only thing that I think is pretty distracting about the piece is the way the piece of glass is cut on the bottom. I don’t know for sure if that is an intentional design decision, but it certainly makes the piece feel like a “piece of art,” rather than just a piece of glass.
There may be a time and place for a kitchen that is perfectly symmetrical, but for the most part it is probably a better idea to use your kitchen countertops to showcase your art. A kitchen countertop is perfect for showcasing your art, but it is also great for holding things you are doing.
I love the idea of showcasing your crafts. I love the idea of using the countertop in a way that makes it look like art. I also love the idea of using these pieces of glass to show off your artwork in a way that is also cool. For example, I use the back of a wine glass to hold an oil painting.
