The most common question I get asked is “Should I write a business card for my company?” or “How would you write a business card?” I actually think most people who are asked the questions, do it the wrong way, and so do I. Instead of writing a business card, I write a letter. A business letter is simply a letter that is written to a company.
The real reason companies choose to use cards is because they believe they can handle such large numbers of people: the salespeople who are invited to talk about their customers. If you can write a business letter, don’t write it in front of everybody. Instead, write it in front of yourself.
A company who sends cards out is putting that person’s name on a card for the company. The reason most people don’t ask about your customers’ identities is because most people don’t think to ask. They don’t believe they are important enough to write about how they feel. This is not why people use cards. This is why companies make their cards.
Cards are great to get the attention of people who don’t know you. You can use them to ask for a job, to request a meeting, to put in a request for a product, to ask a favor. You can also use them to pass on information, such as a new email address. It’s just a matter of not being rude to the people behind the card.
When you get a card, they are usually made for people, no matter who they are. I have seen cards made by people who were just meeting friends for coffee or something. I have also seen cards made for people who were buying themselves a drink or something, and I have seen cards made for people who were asking for help. Some people might not know who you are, some might be too busy, some might be busy looking for a new job.
I think most of the people who send cards to me are just wanting to let me know how cool they think I am. It doesn’t matter who your cards are, if they are cool, they might as well be cool to me. It doesn’t matter that I don’t have a card to give you. It doesn’t matter that I don’t know who you are, or what you are doing.
I got a few cards in yesterday. I got a card from a girl named Jennifer, and one from someone named John. It was the first of many cards from people who were just asking me to help them. If you know anyone who might give you a business card, give them a warm welcome.
That business card thing is a little different from other ones I’ve shared, because I really just want to pass out business cards. I’ve never been really into cards. I just like to send out a bunch of “thank you” notes and a bunch of “do you know what I’m doing?” notes. I don’t really have any “do you know who I am?” notes.
As a business card, it is a small card designed to be folded so that when you put it in your pocket that it can be easily slid into your wallet. I’ve seen others use a large card that they fold over so that it doesnt get lost, but Im not sure if this is the same. I did not have any problem with this at all.
Personally, I think it is because I am not a card person that I was not overly cautious about how I used this. I did not include a barcode on the card, as I feel that it will be easy to scan if it has one. And I also did not include the card on my website because I felt that it would be a little tricky to scan it into my database.
