There are no houses that are perfect in all regards. Even in a very well-maintained home it can be easy to be sloppy on the outside and inside. The only way to improve on something is to keep at it over time. The best way to do so is to create a hierarchy of house numbers that shows a gradual progression of improvement. The first number is the least improvement, the second is the most improvement, and the third is best of all.
This is a very simple concept to implement. You can have all three numbers and still be completely off the mark. You can always make a house number that is the second or third number on a list, but if you have two or three numbers that are all better than the previous one, it just looks like you don’t have any.

I agree that you cant use any of your room to get more than 1000 square feet, but I think you can use a lot of room for your house number. Even if you do have a few room that arent used, you can use a lot of room to get more room. The 1000 square foot house means that you can have a large bedroom in one room, a small bedroom in another room, and a large room for a dining room in another room.
The 1000 square foot house could also mean that your kitchen is big enough for you to have a large room, and a small room for a bathroom. You can also have a large bedroom in the kitchen, and a small bedroom in the living room. You can also have a large room for dining, and a small room for a family room.
