This is the third (and to date, the last) part of our series on the Three Levels of Self-Awareness.
When we talk about self-awareness, we’re not talking about having no awareness of our own thoughts or actions. We’re talking about awareness of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions.
This is not a bad thing either. We don’t have to stop and think about it every time we go to the bathroom, or check the mail. This is a good thing. We can say, “Hmm… this may or may not be a coincidence,” and leave it at that. This is not a bad thing either. We don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wash our hands, or open a door, or take a shower.
We have to think a lot about what we are doing, and about the habits and routines we are in. We have to think about our behaviors and routines, our habits and routines, our habits and routines, our habits and routines, our habits and routines, our habits and routines. And we have to think about this stuff for a long time.
I think that’s why it is so hard to give up the habits, routines, and behaviors that we have been trained to do. You spend a lot of our working day thinking about how you are going to get through this day, and so you are really thinking about what you are going to be doing next, and how you can get through the next day in this order of your priorities. These habits, routines, and behaviors are often unconscious, and it is easy to forget.
This is because we are conditioned to think about the next day and what we need to do the next day in our life in the moment. We think about the next thing that we are going to do, but these are the things we are thinking about in our own personal time. So we might suddenly find ourselves thinking (and this is a big difference between thinking consciously and subconsciously) of all the things we should do next, instead of what we have been doing.
Now, this is not the only reason that we think about the next thing that we should do – sometimes we have to think about the last time we did something. This is because we have the tendency to think about the things that we will be doing in the future with no consideration for the things that we did yesterday.
This is why I like the concept of “the province.” This is where we have the most control over our actions and thus our actions control us. As long as we have some control over our actions, we can plan and strategize for the future. However, because we are constantly under pressure to succeed, we often fail to take the time to consciously plan for the future and so we end up doing things that are not good for us.
We are constantly under pressure to succeed. We are constantly being told that we must succeed to get ahead—and this is our job. We are constantly being told that we must succeed to get ahead—and this is our job. We are constantly being told that we must succeed to get ahead—and this is our job. We are constantly being told that we must succeed to get ahead—and this is our job.
This sounds like a good thing to do in some ways, but in others it can take a lot of effort and it ends up causing us to fail. The problem isn’t that the future isn’t safe, it’s that we don’t take the time to consciously plan for it.
