As I’ve mentioned before (here and here), it’s really difficult to find a good mentor for any endeavor when you don’t have the privilege of being able to live in the same city you’re studying with. That’s where I’ve found laurel magnet school of the arts, which is a highly respected private arts school located in my hometown of Philadelphia.
The school is the most prestigious arts program in the country, and the one I’ve had the most success with. It’s a private high school that focuses on art, and it has a strict admissions policy, so you don’t have to worry about how you’ll fit in with the other students.
Laurel Magnet is also the school that teaches the world’s top students how to play music. Youve got to love their motto, “Music is what makes the world go round.” The school has a highly regarded music program, and has a full orchestra which is very active on campus. Ive been there and Ive learned all sorts of musical techniques. Its one of my favorite places in the city to study, and I cant wait to get the chance to go back.
As a part of this school, they have an amazing concert series at the end of the school year. They host a lot of concerts, and in recent years have featured several of the best guitarists in the country. Theres a lot to love about the music program at laurel magnet. Ive been there a few times, and if you want to go there too, they have a special rate.

I just started a new high school and I loved music. I like to listen to music and I have a lot of students with me that I have a lot of students with. They were my first exposure to music and I really liked it. I was thinking of majoring in music or doing something with music. I was also considering what to do with my life at the time and I thought a music major would be a great option. I love music.
