The Bergen Performing Arts Center was built in the early 1960s as a community center. The building served as that community center until the end of the 1970s when Bergen Community College started operating a performing arts center. During this time, students were able to perform at the Bergen Theatre.
We’re not sure exactly when Bergen Community College began operating a performing arts center, but we do know the Bergen Theatre was still operational by the late 1970s. We also know Bergen Community College was an independent college until the end of the 1980s after the Bergen Theatre was shut down.
So the Bergen Theatre was still in operation; the Bergen Community College performing arts center may have existed on the same campus as the Bergen Theatre, but it was not a part of the Bergen Community College campus. We’re guessing the Bergen Community College performing arts center was closed in the early 1990s, though.
Bergen Community College and the Bergen Theatre may have been close to one another, but I have seen no evidence that they were a part of the Bergen Community College campus.
The Bergen Community College performing arts center existed at Bergen Community College but was not a part of the Bergen Theatre.
That was the big question from yesterday’s press conference. Did Bergen Community College’s Bergen Theatre go out of business after the Bergen Community College board of governors voted to cut costs? Or did Bergen Community College’s acting school, Englewood, go out of business? I don’t know because that’s all I was able to glean from the press conference.
The real question is when did Bergen Community Colleges Bergen Theatre go out of business? I mean, the Bergen Community College Board of Governors cut the costs of the Bergen Community College performing arts center because they want to cut costs. I assume, as in any major college, some kind of fund raiser was in order.
I am not sure what the Bergen Community College Board of Governors are doing because I have no idea how much money they have in the bank or how much money they have in the budget. I can only assume that Bergen Community Colleges and Bergen Theatre have been doing some kind of fund raiser for the last 5 years.
I mean, it’s so dumb, but it’s also so cool. Bergen Community College has a performance arts center on their campus. That’s right, a college that offers an arts program to only students from the local area. They also have an amphitheater and a theater that offer classes in everything from dance to acting to acting. The fact that they’re giving it to the local area means they also have a chance to make a lot of money.
Bergen Community College is, essentially, a really cool school. This might have something to do with their location though, because it seems to be one of the only colleges in the state of New Jersey that has an arts program and that has a theater. If they can convince Bergen Community College to help them out with some money, they have the potential to make money and have some truly amazing theater.
