I love the word “post production coordinator” because it is like a second job. I love the job because it is like a second home, which is how I feel when I am at my desk working with students. I don’t feel like I am a “couch potato” or a “lone ranger.” Instead I am a post production coordinator. I am always thinking about how I can make things more efficient or create something fun.
As a post production coordinator, I do not get to work on all of the content for the students. I choose my projects based on the needs of each class or department. In this way I have a much better chance of getting an efficient process going as opposed to a process where something is thrown together without thinking.
This is a good example of how post production coordinators can really make their students lives easier. Instead of just taking the content that is created on class, department or project, you can have your students collaborate and make changes or take ownership of the project. In addition to that, you also have your students working with each other so they learn from each other.
