In the U.K., cats generated more than a billion pounds of revenue last year, with people spending on average £24 per month on supplies to keep their pet happy and healthy – including food, toys and treats for humans as well as felines
The Internet is Crazy about Cats: A study by Google in 2016 found that YouTube had over 100 million cat videos at any given time which were being watched twice as long as human-related content–making it one of the most popular categories among users.
Cat Ownership Is Increasing Around the World: One international survey revealed that 44% of respondents would consider adopting an animal such as a dog or cat relative to only 27% who said they’d considered getting one five years ago.
There are more Cats in the World than Dogs: A study by European Pet Food Manufacturers found that there were around 600 million pet cats and 400 million pet dogs worldwide, with China having 185 million cat owners compared to just 31 million dog owners.
Animal-related Gifts Are Popular Presents for Cat Lovers: One survey of over a thousand people revealed that 47% had bought at least one present relating to pets for themselves or others within the last two years–including nearly 20% who’d given out gifts related to our furry friends during the past 12 months alone as presents.
The United States Is Increasingly Feline Friendly: In contrast with many countries such as Japan where only about one in five households have a cat, over 40% of US homes are now packed with at least one feline friend–a figure that has grown by about three times since the 1940s.
Cats Are Becoming Increasingly Popular Pets: The odds of living in a home with at least one cat is currently even higher than those who own goldfish (36%), and we’ll soon be looking out for more Tabby Cat Names as well as other popular pets names such as Poodle Dog Names or German Shepherd Dog Names.
