The Crosby Arts Festival is back for the second year with two days of programming, artists in all media, and a variety of activities.
This time, crosby’s art program is more focused on visual art. Not only are there more than 100 artists, but each artist’s work is exhibited in a full-scale gallery. With a variety of installations on display, the artists are free to create whatever they want as long as it’s art. In addition, crosby is now offering a wide range of programs and activities for families and kids.
It’s always good to have both arts and sports in our life. Especially after the COVID-19 pandemic has made so many things harder, and given me more free time to try and explore new things. I’m taking advantage of this little free time to put together a mini arts festival. I’m going to have a gallery featuring works by local artists, and also a museum with work by local and international artists.
The festival will open for the 2021 season on June 10th at the crosby amphitheater. The program will include performances by local performers, performances from international artists, and children’s programming. The day will include an art show and silent auction, and admission for children will be free.
We’ve had a lot of arts festivals with varying levels of success. Some have been great, but many have been a disappointment. Art festivals are fun, but the money is often spent on the wrong things and a bad idea. When money is put into a good idea, it can do wonders to the festival’s financial health.
Arts festivals are great because they provide a great opportunity for local artists to get exposure to a larger audience. And they are a great way to raise money for the arts, but I don’t really think art festivals are the ideal place to do this. First, they just need to get off of the art-free island. Second, they need to spend more time focusing on the arts in their festival. Third, a festival is a festival is a festival.
Yeah, there are plenty of festivals that are art festival style, but I think the big problem is that they don’t have a focus. A big, major arts festival will have thousands of people in attendance and they will all get involved. That’s fine, but they need to focus on what they do best, which is creating a larger, more connected audience. For example, in Austin, the Austin City Limits Music Festival is a great way to do this.
It’s hard to say that this is a bad thing because I know there are lots of musicians who attend the festival who would never have been involved. The bigger problem is that we have no idea what the festival is going to be about.
