The term “business casual” is now a catchphrase and marketing concept for many businesses. The problem with this is that it really isn’t the same as the word “casual” in the dictionary. It implies that a business needs to dress like it’s a regular day at the office, whereas a casual business doesn’t need to wear a suit to work.
This is a common marketing concept that I have come to understand. When a salesperson is trying to sell something, the person is actually attempting to sell you something else. Business casual, more often than not means a casual get-up that you might wear to the office and show up to your job shirtless. But you can also be a business casual, but wear a suit to work. While there are plenty of business casual outfits out there, I think the best ones are ones that make you feel comfortable and confident about where you are, and the way you are going to make a sale, even if you have to wear your pants a little tight.
Well, for starters, you want something that gives you a sense of “me”, something you can lean on. A good business casual shirt is one that you can lean on, but not lean too much. Something to keep your arms and legs from feeling too heavy. In fact, I really like shirts with pockets for your keys and phone. That way you can just pop those in and go.
