The liberal arts colleges in North Carolina are the only five-year colleges that are fully accredited, so if you choose them you are guaranteed a top-notch education.
That’s not to say you can’t get a bad education, but you can definitely get a lousy education. The liberal arts colleges in North Carolina are all located in the state’s North Carolina university system, which includes the state flagship university (and one of the top two research universities in the country), the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
North Carolina is a state with its fair share of liberal arts colleges. As its reputation as a conservative state, most of the liberal arts colleges here in North Carolina are in the state’s largest metropolitan areas, and some of them are in the state’s most populous cities. Although it is a pretty liberal state, it is also very conservative, so many of these liberal arts colleges have a reputation as being conservative havens.
It’s only really fair to point out that many of these liberal arts colleges are also conservative, so they aren’t “liberal.” While this could be true for many of them, for the sake of being fair, let’s say they are mostly.
The argument that these colleges are places where you can “learn anything” really isn’t that far-fetched. I have a friend from a different college and he said that this college actually had more creative types on campus than any other. I have also heard from people that they were really into writing and art, however, that isn’t always the case. These liberal arts colleges are also known for their small class sizes and small class sizes are known for being conservative.
For instance, the University of California at Santa Cruz, where I attend, has a class size of 20-30 students. That is not small by college standards, but it is a conservative college. The University of Tennessee, in Nashville, is another conservative college and if you go to the campus you will also find many conservative professors.
If you want to get an idea of just how conservative these liberal arts colleges are, go to the University of Tennessee and ask for a tour. The tour will show you the dorms, the kitchen, the bathroom, and the library. If you go to the library, there is a statue of the Tennessee state flag in the middle of the library and the sign on the door reads, “We have a right to read.
I really enjoyed going to the University of Tennessee and seeing how the conservative campus operates. The conservative professors are very knowledgeable and I had a lot of fun reading their research journals. I would recommend these colleges to anyone interested in education but especially conservative education.
This is the liberal arts college, but the liberal arts is just as important as the conservative education. The liberal arts can be a great way to learn how to think critically and to have a great deal of freedom to study a wide variety of subjects, the most important of which is to be able to learn and practice what you want to learn.
