@jennschiffer: When you name your kid Kale, everyone asks
@briannamenson: “I’m not a doctor but I play one on TV” – Dr. Kildare (tv physician)
@jenreid: “K” is for the Kennedy family.
The Kennedys have been in power since 1960 and are still going strong!
The first three years of Sebastian Spering Kresge’s presidency had some ups but a lot more downs, including the Great Depression fiasco and his assassination. But he’ll always be remembered as one of our most iconic presidents because well..we all know about that whole thing with John F. Kennedy Jr., Jackie O., Mary Richardson Kennedy (aka Mrs Robert F. Kennedy), Clara Grace Kennedys or just plain old “Clara”, Edward Moorer Fitzgerald, Patrick Bouvier Shriver Sr., Caroline Lee Radziwill, Arabella Carter-Johnson, Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald-Kennedy, Michael LeMoyne Kennedy Sr., and of course the most famous, John Fitzgerald “Jack” Kennedy.
In fact, it was a family tradition to name their sons with K in honor of Sebastian Spering Kresge’s last name so they always had at least one living namesake. Now that we’ve covered all the Kennedys you might be wondering why this is relevant..well let me tell you! You see he once said: “I don’t know what I did to anger God but I am paying for it now.” His son Edward Moorer Fitzgerald also died on November 22nd 1963 (just an hour before JFK Jr.) which makes him a part of history too!
Another interesting story is that Rose Kennedy (mother of JFK) was the first child born to a president. She also had nine children and all their names started with K! So if you’re looking for some inspiration, take a look at these other great last name beginnings too:
– Kellogg, King, Knox [and] Kirkpatrick
– Kleinert, Kramer, Kruger
– Lambkin or Orracksky (I know this one sounds weird but it’s true!)
– Landers Dunham or Lindström/Lindstrom/Lundin Linton – Longstreth – Lundgren ..etcetera. I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite last name origins!”
– “Kylie Jenner wants to change her name because she thinks it’s too confusing. I’m just confused by why anyone would want the last name ‘Jenner’.”
– “‘I love starting conversations with strangers,’ said no one ever..unless you have K in your last initial”
– “People are so mean about stuff like this. Imagine if your dad had some weird middle eastern sounding surname? Would people say he changed his name?”
The first tweet is from Twitter user @KrispyLabels, who jokes that if you have the last name starting with K, then “you’re a special kind of weird.”
After this post was published on the blog for six hilarious tweets about last names that start with K and other letters in alphabetical order (A to M), we found out there are also three more posts left: one for N to Z; another covering some common words starting with each letter; and finally an article explaining how people can create these articles on their own using our template system.

The first tweet that we will be looking at comes from @NoahDubs and he jokes that “the last time I saw someone whose last name starts with an R was seven years ago.” The second tweet comes from @loljaykennedy who shares his experience shopping for clothes in Singapore. He writes that not only did people talk to him in English but they also asked where he was going after buying something because their stores are so well lit! Lastly, this blog post would not be complete without mentioning Maddie Stinks’ tweet about her “killer” last name. She writes that she has to spell it out for everyone and sadly but humorously points out the one thing she can’t buy with a credit card or in stores because of her killer last name.

Rowan, Twitter user: “I just saw your tweet about your killer last name. It’s actually a really cool last name! The worst is when people think it sounds like Rat-in.”
“It was so weird to see the first K on my college campus and be like ‘uh oh yeah that girl probably has a crazy story.'” – Maddie Stinks
