One of the greatest benefits of martial arts is that it reduces stress. For about fifteen minutes per day, you can be a better person. It’s like a mini-break from the everyday, and you can’t say you’re not a better person.
And if you know anything about martial arts, you know that the first thing you should learn is how to relax. Even if you’re just sitting at your computer doing nothing, you should at least read a book about it.
One easy way to relax is to meditate. Meditation is one of the most effective forms of relaxation anyone can learn. If you have a few minutes, it’s always a good idea to find a quiet place to sit, and meditate. You should probably also do it while you’re driving, or walking down the street. For a quick meditation, you can choose to just sit and stare at a blank screen. That’s good to do if you’re feeling stressed-out or anything.
Meditation is not just for the stressed-out. You can also enjoy the peace of mind that comes with having a solid foundation. The science of meditation is still being studied, but you can read about it at Wikipedia or see the works of a meditation teacher yourself. If, like me, you dont really get enough meditation time in your day, you can do it while youre sitting down at the computer, or while running your errands.
As for the rest, I have no idea.
I know you can find many ideas online, but this might be one of the simplest ways to find out: just take a look at the art of the samurai. Look at the samurai in action and try to figure out what makes them tick.
In 1-Up you can move a character or a weapon a certain number of times, and you have to make a certain number of attacks. If you are doing the moves from above by holding the right keys, the character attacks with the right arm, which allows you to choose to attack with the left arm. This is similar to a karate class, where you punch a fist and the attacker is forced to attack with his other arm to defend against you.
So, karate lets you “punch” the attacker to defend against you. In 1-Up, it lets you punch and move a weapon a certain number of times.
You can make all the moves from above from your left arm, but you can only make 2 attacks with your left arm. By contrast, in a traditional karate class the attacks from above are all from the right arm and the attacker must attack from his left to defend against you. In 1-Up, you can make all the moves from above from your left arm and attack with the right arm.
This is also true of other martial arts. In a traditional karate class, you can only make 2 attacks with your left arm, but you can make 3 attacks from above with the right arm. A kick in boxing is a “left hook” from above with your right arm and can only be made 2 times in a round. In a traditional boxing class, you can only make 3 more attacks with the left arm.
